Perth drummer and composer Ryan Daunt is an outstanding and in- demand musician. He is a WAAPA First Class Honours Graduate, is endorsed by Bosphorus Cymbals and Protection Racket, was a top 10 finalist in Drumtek’s Up and Coming drum competition, has performed at Perth International Jazz Festival, Perth Fringe Festival, and Bridgetown Blues Festival and has toured nationally and internationally (USA, Europe). Daunt’s debut album ‘Fragile Information’ now has over 25000 listens across streaming platforms.
Ryan Daunt recently launched his latest album ‘Essence’, which was a sold out event at The Ellington Jazz Club, Perth, 22 July 2021. Drawing influences from artists such as Avishai Cohen, Tigran Hamasyan, Hiromi, E.S.T, Tingvall Trio, Benedikt Jahnel Trio, and more, Ryan Daunt’s original music is a unique blend of styles, containing elements of jazz, contemporary, and classical music. Expect rich harmonic landscapes, complex rhythmic interplay, captivating melodies, and exciting improvisations from the Ryan Daunt Trio.
ESSENCE
‘Essence’ features 11 original tracks written by drummer Ryan Daunt in modern jazz trio format. After receiving a grant from the Department of Local Government Sport and Culture Industries, Ryan Daunt composed the original material for this album mostly during the 2020 lockdown in Perth, Australia. Drawing influences from artists such as Avishai Cohen, Tigran Hamasyan, Hiromi, E.S.T, Tingvall Trio, Benedikt Jahnel Trio, and more, Ryan Daunt’s original music is a unique blend of styles, containing elements of jazz, contemporary, and classical music.
